FAQ:

Isn’t it cheaper if I just service the pool myself?

Quite frankly, our experience has been no in many cases. First of all, you must purchase all the proper chemicals to maintain the water integrity. Improperly maintained chemical balance cannot only create an unsafe environment for the swimmer, but can also damage your pool and equipment. In addition, you are not trained to recognize a problem, where we are. Many times, once the homeowner who has serviced the pool themselves realizes there is a problem, the problem has become exaggerated. Since most homeowners don’t have the skill or knowledge to make the repairs themselves, they end up having to call out someone who is going to charge much more for a one time service call. When our technician recognizes a problem in its early stages, we can make the repairs before more serious damage occurs, saving you money in the long run. Most importantly, what is your time worth? Would you rather spend your free time enjoying your pool, or maintaining it?

What about the other needs of the pool, such as filter cleaning or conditioning?

Filter cleaning and conditioning are done as required. Obviously, different pools have different needs, for example a salt water pool vs. standard pool. Usage can also affect this. When our technician comes to give you an estimate they will not only assess your pools needs, but also yours. They will provide you, in writing, not only the fee for the weekly service, but also the rates for filter cleaning and conditioning, and how often they must done. Keep in mind, however, that circumstances can dictate a change in the scheduling. A good example is the recent fires that created a tremendous amount of ash in the air, which ended up in the pools and subsequently the filters.

What about repairs?

One of our clients, who has been with us for a while now, made a comment to us recently. He stated that “the thing I like about you is that you don’t nickel and dime me. My last service charged me every time they turned a screw”. When repairs are necessary, we will contact you, prior to proceeding. We will advise what the problem is, what is needed to fix it, and what the cost will be to you. If the problem is something that can be repaired within the normal time constraints of the weekly service, and no parts are necessary, it will be handled at no additional cost to you. If the repair is labor intensive, or requires parts, you will know in advance, not be surprised when you get the bill.
